Coulabilité de sels déliquescents additivés pour le stockage de chaleur // Flowability of deliquescent salts with additives for heat storage
ABG, Albi Cedex
One of the scientific challenges is the storage and handling of salt which remains a difficulty, despite advances in the quantification of the mechanical resistance of humid granular environments, due to their deliquescence. For good control of these slow flows and cyclability of the sorbent, it is necessary to quantify the mechanical resistance of these powders and their temporal evolution, under a wide range of constant relative humidity but also after sorption-desorption cycles of water which lead to irreversible transfers of matter. Objectives — In this thesis work, several stages are identified:Measure of the flowability of the sorbent (various salts) and quantify the mechanical properties under quasi-static stresses (instrumented shear cells) depending on the water present and the aging processes (sintering, segregation, etc.) in a repeated cycle.Study the addition of anti-caking agents in the powder bed and test new shaping strategies by encapsulation of powders to ensure their flowability. The objective of this program is to understand the physical mechanisms (limitation of the film to the apparent surface of the grains by encapsulation, limitation of the size of capillary bridges by a spacing effect between grains, limitation of penalizing moisture transfers during storage, etc.) and their impact on the flow, the stability of the storage, as well as on the powers exchanged in the reactor (salt-atmosphere exchange surface, inert mass; by thermogravimetric studies). These different approaches will have a first use application in the prototype thermochemical reactor which will be under development at the Locie Laboratory (ANR Stock-HD).------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Début de la thèse : 01/10/2024Nature du financementAutre financement publicPrécisions sur le financementANR Financement d'Agences de financement de la recherchePrésentation établissement et labo d'accueilIMT Mines AlbiEtablissement délivrant le doctoratIMT Mines AlbiEcole doctorale468 MEGEP - Mécanique, Energétique, Génie civil, ProcédésProfil du candidatCandidat.e ayant obtenu un master 2 ou ingénieur en génie de procédé, ayant des connaissances dans le domaine des poudres, motivé.e pour travailler sur un projet collaboratif impliquant l'expérimentation et la modélisation des phénomènes observés.
